24×30, acrylic on canvas.

What does it mean to “survive” a catastrophe inflicted by other human beings on the scale of The Holocaust? Does one really survive, just because one is physically alive?

In this painting, I am trying to think about these questions which were raised by Aushwitz survivor, author Imre Kertész in his novel Fatelessness and its sequals, Fiasco and Kiddish For An Unborn Child
